11/19/2023 0 Comments Sony 7 digital photo frame![]() ![]() Loading photos or flipping the display's orientation never took more than 2 seconds. In my tests, images always loaded quickly, and when I turned the frame on its side, it quickly rotated images from portrait to landscape mode. With limited features, it's no surprise that the user interface (UI) is fairly straightforward-it's fast and dead-simple to navigate. While most other frames include it, the D70 also lacks a full-size USB port for transferring images from flash drives. By comparison, the $120 Pandigital 8" PanTouch Clear Digital Photo Frame offers 1GB of built-in storage. There's a mini-USB port so you can plug the frame directly into your computer and drag and drop files onto the internal memory, but you only get a meager 232MB of usable space. You can also control the frame using the included compact, membrane-button remote, though the infrared (IR) receiver can be finicky-you need to point the remote right at the Sony logo or you might not get a response.Īlso positioned on the back of the frame are three memory card readers, with support for CF, SDHC, xD and, of course Memory Stick media. All of the buttons are hidden on the back of the display, towards the top of the unit, and along the right side, so they're out of sight when you view the frame head-on. There's a glowing Sony logo smack-dab in the center of the bottom border, but it can be disabled so you don't see it at all. Including this button streamlines access to the zoom function so you don't have to dig through menus. ![]() Thankfully, Sony includes a big, easy-to-find View Mode button on the top of the frame, which toggles between Entire Image (complete with black bars) and Fit to Screen (cropped) modes. While the D70 features a 15:9 aspect ratio, your photos are likely to be shot in 3:2 or 4:3, so you'll see black bars on either side of an image. With its glossy finish, the front of the frame looks just as stylish and expensive as the $249 HP DreamScreen 100. Both frames are equipped with fast and simple software, and offer a sleek, minimalist design with nothing but an 800-by-480-pixel LCD and an appropriately sized glossy black border (measuring 1.25 inches around). The 5.5-by-8.0-by-1.2 inch (HWD) D70 is almost identical to last year's 9-inch DPF-V900. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.
